Mary Dunford
Herb Kitchen
A lover and grower of herbs, Mary Dunford of Natures Herb Farm fame, found her path over 20 years ago with a goal to teach people a love of culinary herbs by making them both accessible and interesting. She started her backyard business with a single 16′ x 42′ greenhouse and herbs that filled to overflowing in her backyard. Today, her business has blossomed into a 14-acre farm with multiple greenhouses featuring more than 300 varieties of potted plants and fields of fresh culinary herbs. Natures Herb Farm is now a. labor of love for her son Shane and since retiring, Mary has more time to share her vast horticultural knowledge with the community about how useful herbs are in the landscape, in cooking, in decoration, and in the preparation of health and beauty products.. We are excited to have her join us as our featured guest for the Festival of Flowers Herb Kitchen.
Mary is a founding and active member of the San Antonio Herb Market Association, the San Antonio Herb Society and the Texas Herb Growers Market Association.
Led by acclaimed chef, Elizabeth Johnson, who helped the City of San Antonio receive a UNESCO City of Gastronomy designation. Pharm Table is a mecca for healthful farm to table cuisine. Removing inflammatory ingredients like wheat, dairy, refined sugar, and processed foods, the restaurant focuses instead on fresh farm produce and meats carefully sourced from regenerative farmers.
Our niche is locally sourced ingredients, and globally inspired flavor that promote an overall better quality of life. We believe in the medicinal power of food and botanicals. Our recipes are driven by our use of spices and herbs, and they reflect the season’s bounty
